Things to do
Snorkeling. All the colour, none of the certification.
If scuba isn't your thing, the Andamans' shallow reefs make snorkeling shockingly good. From boat-based reef trips at Elephant Beach to drift swims off Bharatpur, the corals start in waist-deep water.
Top spots
Elephant Beach (Havelock) — easy reef in chest-deep water. The corals start in waist-deep water, perfect for first-timers and families.
What's included
Mask, snorkel, fins and life jackets are provided. Trips are usually combined with one or two other activities — glass-bottom boat, sea walk or jet ski.
Best season
October to May for the calmest water. Avoid the southwest monsoon (June–September) for snorkel-only trips.
Operated by
