Swaraj Dweep
Havelock Island
The Andamans' most-loved island — and for good reason.
Two hours by ferry from Port Blair, Havelock is where the Andamans turn cinematic. Powder-white sand, water in three shades of turquoise, dense tropical jungle pressing up to the shoreline — and a coastline you can still walk for hours without meeting another soul.
Radhanagar Beach
Voted Asia's best beach by TIME and still living up to the headline. A 2 km arc of fine white sand backed by mahua trees, with a sunset that empties every café in the village. Arrive by 5 pm for the best light.
Elephant Beach & the reef
A 30-minute jungle trek (or a short speedboat) brings you to the island's snorkelling and sea-walking hub. Shallow coral gardens, parrotfish, and the gentlest introduction to the Andaman reef.
Kalapathar & Vijaynagar
Quiet eastern beaches where sunrise lights up the black volcanic rocks. Walk a few hundred metres in either direction and you'll have the sand to yourself.
Where to eat
Full Moon Café for woodfired pizza by the water, Something Different for slow Italian, Red Snapper for fresh-off-the-boat seafood, and Anju-Coco for the best breakfast on the island.
